The idea for this intriguing set came from the quartet’s Baritone Saxophonist Chris Caldwell when he heard The Stranglers classic, Golden Brown, on the radio whilst on a drive to Dartmoor. He was struck by its beguiling classical beauty and shape and felt that it would be a perfect addition to the Deltas growing catalogue which had re-shaped a variety of songs of Soft Machine, Bowie, King Crimson & Eno.
Here the quartet has a collection of new arrangements by David Lancaster, David Power and Nick Williams, all composers linked with Late Music York where they have crafted some sublime versions of some of The Stranglers most well known releases, Golden Brown, No More Heroes, Always The Sun etc. along with a Stranglers inspired dynamic new work by David Lancaster titled Allegro Strangolato.
The new release, Hanging Around launch is in July 2026 at Late Music York.
